Police Officer Attending Mother-in-Law's Funeral Saves Citizen with CPR at Funeral Hall
A police officer attending his mother-in-law's funeral saved a citizen who collapsed at the funeral hall by performing CPR.
According to Yonhap News Agency, at around 8:50 a.m. on November 9, Park Jungmoon (57), an inspector at the Busan Gijang Police Precinct, was preparing for the funeral procession of his mother-in-law at a hospital funeral hall in Daejeon. When he heard a commotion outside, he went out and witnessed a bereaved family member from another funeral room who had collapsed.
Inspector Park cleared the area and shouted for someone to call emergency services, then began performing CPR. After about three to four minutes, the collapsed citizen regained breathing and a pulse. The citizen, who regained consciousness, was transferred to the hospital for treatment.

Inspector Park said, "When I saw the citizen lose consciousness, I instinctively started CPR. It was the first time I had performed CPR in such an urgent situation during my police career, and the regular training I received was a great help."
