LS Electric Showcases Dominant Next-Generation Power Technology Competitiveness at BIXPO
Joint Exhibition with LS Cable & System, Unveiling HVDC and Other Solutions
Superconducting, Renewable Energy, and Customized Data Center Technologies
LS Electric announced on November 4 that it will participate in the 'Bigspo (Bitgaram International Power Technology Expo·BIXPO) 2025', which will be held at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju from November 5 to 7, showcasing a wide array of innovative technologies such as high-voltage direct current (HVDC), renewable energy, and data center solutions.
Together with LS Cable & System, LS Electric will set up an exhibition hall themed 'Connecting Everything with Energy', covering a total area of 108 square meters (12 booths). The company will present its HVDC technology localization capabilities, a 100% renewable energy (RE100) platform, and AI-powered customized solutions for data centers. In particular, LS Electric plans to focus on displaying power infrastructure solutions required for long-distance transmission connecting large-scale renewable energy sources such as offshore wind power and for building future power grids, in line with the government's West Coast Energy Expressway policy.
As the only current-source HVDC operator in Korea, LS Electric's accumulated technological expertise and project execution capabilities are drawing attention for how well they will be demonstrated at the exhibition. The company’s cumulative HVDC project orders have exceeded 1 trillion won. LS Electric successfully completed the 'Bukdangjin-Godeok' HVDC converter station supply project (2014-2024) and is steadily advancing the 'East Coast-Metropolitan Area' HVDC converter station supply project (2012-2026). Recently, the company completed the development of a 500MW-class voltage-source HVDC converter transformer, the largest in Korea, and plans to further strengthen its stable project execution capabilities by internalizing advanced converter valve technology from GE Vernova and localizing voltage-source converter equipment.
The company will also introduce its energy integrated management solution (FEMS) and business references for RE100 industrial complexes. In September, LS Electric completed the installation of FEMS linked to solar power facilities at Volvo Group Korea's Changwon plant. On-site, the company will showcase HVDC solutions, including both onshore and offshore cables, as well as its global subsea cable capabilities. The synergy of LS Group’s energy value chain, spanning from power supply to control together with LS Electric, will also be highlighted. Additionally, LS Electric and LS Cable & System will unveil 'Hypergrid NX', a superconducting power system for AI data centers. Hypergrid NX is a data center power supply system that combines LS Cable & System’s superconducting cables with LS Electric’s superconducting current limiter.

Recently, the company secured contracts to supply distribution solutions for hyperscale data centers in the United States and ASEAN regions, having its products and technological capabilities recognized by numerous global big tech companies. Notably, this year, the company’s order volume for data center projects in the United States exceeded 800 billion won.
