Bluepoint to Host Forum on Nuclear Fusion Industrialization
"Nuclear Fusion, the Game Changer for Next-Generation Energy Industries" Forum Set for the 28th
Comprehensive Discussions on R&D Status, Industrialization Potential, and the Startup Investment Ecosystem
Bluepoint Partners, a leading domestic accelerator (AC), announced on November 4 that it will host a forum titled "Nuclear Fusion, the Game Changer for Next-Generation Energy Industries" to discuss industrialization opportunities for nuclear fusion.
The event will be held on the 28th at the Textile Center Event Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, under the theme "Technology, Policy, and Investment: Opening the Path to Industrialization." The forum is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Korea Technology Commercialization Promotion Agency, and Seoul National University.
Nuclear fusion produces energy by mimicking the process that powers the sun, generating energy through the fusion reaction of deuterium and tritium. It is called the "energy of dreams" because it does not emit carbon, does not produce high-level radioactive waste, and carries no risk of explosion, offering high levels of safety.
The forum will comprehensively discuss the current status of research and development in nuclear fusion technology, its industrialization potential, and the role of startups and the investment ecosystem. Experts from academia, industry, and research institutes, as well as investors, will gather to seek practical turning points for the nuclear fusion industry in Korea.
The event will begin with a presentation on the roadmap for nuclear fusion development in Korea, followed by detailed programs including strategies to accelerate nuclear fusion energy development, innovative regulatory frameworks for technology and policy, pitches from domestic nuclear fusion startups, and a panel discussion with investors. The agenda will cover discussions on technology and policy, commercialization cases from private startups, and perspectives from investors.
Min Namki, Chief Investment Officer at Bluepoint Partners, stated, "Nuclear fusion should be approached as a strategic investment area at the national level, considering future power demand and energy security," adding, "We hope this event will provide an opportunity for domestic startups, investors, and academia-industry-research stakeholders to explore the direction of nuclear fusion industrialization together."
