Dongwon Industries announced on the 4th that it will participate in the '2025 Busan International Seafood Expo (BISFE)', which will be held at BEXCO in Haeundae-gu, Busan, from the 5th to the 7th.
The Busan International Seafood Expo is one of Asia's top three seafood trade fairs, with 420 seafood companies and organizations from 25 countries in attendance. At this exhibition, Dongwon Industries aims to showcase a variety of seafood products, including domestically produced bluefin tuna and salmon, to major domestic and international buyers and related organizations, thereby highlighting the competitiveness of 'K-Seafood'.

The company has recently been discussing ways to process and distribute domestically caught bluefin tuna-whose catch volume has been increasing along the East Sea coast but is often discarded due to quota regulations-with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, local governments, and other stakeholders. Building on over 50 years of accumulated seafood processing expertise, Dongwon Industries plans to establish a systematic distribution network and develop new products based on customer feedback. This initiative aims to reduce seafood waste and promote mutual growth with local fishermen.
In addition, Dongwon Industries will introduce salmon developed in collaboration with Norwegian salmon specialist Hofseth, featuring a streamlined distribution process. Salmon that is ultra-rapidly frozen at extremely low temperatures in Norway is supplied in a fresh state through Dongwon Industries’ Busan plant, which utilizes rapid thawing technology (icefresh). This process minimizes moisture loss and cellular damage, preserving the taste, freshness, and texture of the salmon. Furthermore, by using sea freight instead of air transport, the company is able to reduce both carbon emissions and logistics costs, offering Norwegian salmon at more reasonable prices.
