Coway Launches Its First Air Purifier with Heating Function
First Model Combining Air Purification and Heating
Targeting Winter Season Demand
Will Product Diversification Work Amid Intensifying Competition from Major Corporations?
Coway is set to launch a new concept air purifier called 'Heative' this winter, equipped with a heating function. This hybrid product offers both air care and supplementary heating effects, and is seen as a strategic move to introduce a new competitive edge in the increasingly crowded air purifier market, which has recently seen intensified competition due to the entry of major conglomerates.
According to industry sources on November 4, Coway has entered the final stages of preparation for the launch of Heative and is currently coordinating the release date. Heative features a combination of air purification and a heating function that emits warm air. Coway aims to target consumer demand with this differentiated product, which emphasizes seasonality and convenience.

While it is difficult to specify the exact launch date, it will be released in the near future."
Although Coway has already introduced various hybrid purifiers with functions such as air purification, humidification, dehumidification, and clothing care, this is the first time the company is launching a model with a heating function. The recent addition of a 'heating' filter search option in the air purifier category on Coway's official website is also raising expectations for the release of the new product.
The background behind Coway's decision to introduce this new product appears to be the intensifying competition in the air purifier market following the entry of major conglomerates. This market, once led by mid-sized and small companies, has rapidly shifted as large corporations like Samsung and LG have entered the scene. In response, Coway is expanding its product portfolio to adapt to market changes and aiming to capture demand for seasonal hybrid devices.
Hybrid air purifiers with heating functions are still rare in the domestic market. While LG Electronics launched the 'LG PuriCare Objet Collection AeroTower' at the end of 2021, introducing a model with a heating function, major competitors in the rental market such as Chungho Nice, Kyowon Wells, and SK Intellix have yet to release similar products.

The domestic air purifier market continues to grow despite intensifying competition. According to global market research firm Mordor Intelligence, the domestic air purifier market is projected to expand from $432.2 million (618 billion KRW) in 2025 to $635.4 million (908.6 billion KRW) by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8%. The steady increase in demand for air purifiers in homes and offices is attributed to the rise in respiratory diseases caused by air pollution and growing interest in health, which is expected to drive future market growth.
