View original imageDuring a special news broadcast covering the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Gyeongju, a broadcasting accident occurred when subtitles stating "the situation in North Korean camps is hell" appeared during remarks by Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia. SBS, upon recognizing the issue, deleted the content and posted an apology.
On November 3, SBS apologized to viewers in the comments section of its YouTube channel, where the APEC Summit news special was uploaded, stating, "The video of the meeting between President Lee Jaemyung and Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, contained a subtitle error and has been deleted." SBS explained, "The subtitle was from a previously used template and was included by mistake during editing."
The video in question was a special broadcast aired on November 1, featuring footage from the meeting between President Lee and CEO Jensen Huang on October 31. When subtitles unrelated to Jensen Huang's remarks were broadcast, the incident quickly spread across online communities and social networking services (SNS).
SBS did not immediately recognize the subtitle mistake after airing the broadcast. It was only after online users urged the correction through comments that the company took action.
