Authorities Launch Investigation into Safety Management and Accident Circumstances
Two people were killed and one was seriously injured in a series of industrial accidents at construction sites in Gwangju and Suncheon, Jeollanam-do.
According to the Gwangju and Jeonnam Fire Headquarters on November 2, at around 7:28 a.m. that day, a male worker in his 60s, referred to as Mr. A, died after falling from a height of 4 meters at a multi-family housing construction site in Yongyeon-dong, Dong-gu, Gwangju.
At around 10:27 a.m. the previous day, at a construction waste disposal site in Seomyeon, Suncheon, a male worker in his 60s, referred to as Mr. B, was caught in a stone crushing machine, sustained serious injuries, and was transported to a hospital but died.
On the same day, at around 8:47 a.m., at an apartment construction site in Wolgye-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, another male worker in his 60s, referred to as Mr. C, was found in cardiac arrest, trapped between a work platform and a wall. Mr. C was transported to a hospital and reportedly regained his pulse and breathing.
