The Iksan Police Station in North Jeolla Province announced on November 2 that it has requested arrest warrants for three members of the student council at Wonkwang University on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act by being involved in recruiting members for a specific political party.
Previously, suspicions arose at Wonkwang University that the student council president and the presidents of each college's student council were enrolling students as members of a specific political party. In response, the police conducted a search and seizure of the Wonkwang University student council in July and have since been investigating five individuals involved in the case.

A police official stated, "We have requested arrest warrants for three people based on their level of involvement," adding, "As the investigation is ongoing, it is difficult to provide further details."
