Ulsan Elia Hospital Safeguards Senior Health with Medical Support at Senior Comfort Events
Providing Medical Support and Caring for Emergency Patients
Ulsan Elia Hospital has been actively providing medical support at senior comfort events in Ulsan Buk-gu throughout October, in celebration of Senior Citizens’ Day. These events were organized by local residents’ committees and youth associations, with volunteers from related organizations participating. The hospital’s efforts to care for emergency patients have received positive feedback from attendees.
Starting with the “Yeompo-dong Senior Festival” held at Yeompo Sports Ground on October 23, the hospital provided medical staff and ambulance services at a series of events, including the “Nongso 2-dong Senior Unity Grand Festival” at Maegok Middle School Gymnasium on October 25, the “Nongso 1-dong Parent Appreciation Grand Festival” at Hogae Elementary School Gymnasium on October 26, and the “Nongso 3-dong Senior Comfort Festival” at Soeburi Sports Center on October 27. In total, approximately 3,000 people attended these events.
Earlier, on October 1, the hospital also participated in medical support for the “Senior Citizens’ Day Commemorative Senior Citizen Culture Festival” organized by the Ulsan Buk-gu Senior Welfare Center, actively cooperating to ensure the safety of local events.
During these events, Ulsan Elia Hospital’s medical team provided prompt emergency care for patients with internal medicine conditions such as hypoglycemia and acute indigestion, stabilizing their conditions.
In particular, when a patient in their 70s who had undergone cardiovascular procedures and was on medication showed mild cardiac symptoms, the hospital quickly transported the patient to the emergency room, earning high praise from event officials and participants for their swift response.
Jung Younghwan, Director of Ulsan Elia Hospital, stated, “As Korea transitions into an aging society, there is an urgent need for attention and care for local seniors. We will continue to support and participate in local events to ensure they are healthy, safe, and become occasions for sharing respect, joy, and unity.”
