Samyook Busan Hospital announced on October 31 that it received the highest grade (Grade 1) in all three evaluations released by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service: the 7th Tuberculosis Appropriateness Evaluation, the 10th Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Appropriateness Evaluation, and the 11th Asthma Appropriateness Evaluation.
This achievement is regarded as evidence that the hospital has established a high level of care quality and management system across a wide range of respiratory diseases.
The tuberculosis appropriateness evaluation, conducted on tuberculosis patients in the first half of last year, comprehensively assessed indicators such as the rate of tuberculosis bacteria confirmation tests, the rate of sensitivity tests, the percentage of days prescribed medication, and the treatment success rate. Samyook Busan Hospital scored 96.2 points, surpassing both the overall average (94.5 points) and the general hospital average (94.0 points), earning the top grade for the second consecutive time.
In the COPD appropriateness evaluation based on 2024 medical data, the hospital also scored 94.3 points, significantly exceeding the overall average (70.2 points) and the general hospital average (80.9 points).
The main evaluation items included the rate of pulmonary function tests, the proportion of patients with continuous visits, and the proportion of patients prescribed inhaled bronchodilators. The hospital has maintained the highest grade for three consecutive evaluations.
In the asthma appropriateness evaluation, the hospital also achieved excellent results in areas such as the rate of pulmonary function tests, the proportion of patients with continuous visits, and the proportion of patients prescribed inhaled corticosteroids (ICS), earning the top grade for the third consecutive time.
