Naver has acquired an 8.5% stake in InBody, valued at 32.5 billion won, becoming the fourth-largest shareholder. Through this, Naver plans to strengthen its strategic cooperation to target the global healthcare market. InBody is a global healthcare company that provides body composition analysis products and services to 110 countries, based on 13 overseas subsidiaries in the United States, Japan, Europe, India, and other regions.
InBody sells body composition analyzers and automated blood pressure monitors to hospitals, fitness centers, schools and public institutions, as well as general consumers. In addition to its body composition analyzer, which has achieved the top global market share, InBody is diversifying its digital healthcare business by introducing the LB (LookinBody) platform for managing body composition data.
Choi Inhyuk, CEO of Naver Tech Business, stated, "By joining forces with InBody, we will introduce innovative healthcare services that combine AI and data, as well as data-driven personalized health management services that seamlessly connect online and offline experiences, to the global market." He added, "We are planning services that provide tailored health management by identifying the needs of various users, including senior care, dieting, and wellness."
Meanwhile, in August, Naver invested in J&PMedi, a leading domestic clinical trial platform company. The two companies are collaborating to combine AI technology, advance digital clinical trial platforms, and accelerate the digital transformation of the entire healthcare ecosystem.
