View original imageThe ceremony took place on the 30th at the Peace & Park Convention Center inside the War Memorial of Korea in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The Environmental Science and Technology Day Merit Award is a system established to recognize the contributions of environmental technology professionals to environmental conservation and technological advancement. It is organized annually by the Environmental Science and Technology Day Steering Committee and hosted by the Korea Environmental Technology Association.
Jung Sangyeop, Senior Researcher of the Environmental Energy Team at Kkeutkunnara, was selected as the recipient in recognition of his thorough management of hazardous chemical substances, which resulted in a record of zero accidents over 10 years and 9 months since joining the company in 2014, as well as his key role in improving the environmental safety standards at the workplace by enhancing processes for discharging water pollutants and reducing pollution sources.
In addition, he was highly praised for his continuous efforts as the overall manager of integrated environmental management, including compliance with regulations, accident prevention, strengthening emergency response systems, improving the efficiency of sludge and wastewater treatment, and advancing systems for preventing environmental accidents.
