"Presenting the Path to Hopeful Education
Where Every Child Shines in Gyeongnam"
Kim Seung-oh, former Blue House Education Administrator, will hold a publication ceremony for his new book, "Kim Seung-oh's Hopeful Education," which encapsulates his reflections and vision accumulated over 38 years of experience in both the educational field and policy, from being a teacher to serving as an education superintendent.
The publication ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, at the Irum Hall of Changwon National University. Residents of Gyeongnam Province, educational staff, parents, and anyone interested in the future and hope of education in Gyeongnam are welcome to attend.
"Kim Seung-oh's Hopeful Education" is a record of the author's extensive experiences, from being born in Hamyang and graduating from Jinju National University of Education, to starting his career as a teacher at Buksang Elementary School, serving as an education researcher at the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, a supervisor at the Gyeongnam Provincial Office of Education, Education Administrator at the Presidential Secretariat in the Blue House, Superintendent of the Haman Office of Education, and principal of Korean international schools in Taiwan and Singapore. The book covers the frontlines of classrooms, educational policy, and global education.
The book, grounded in the belief that "Our education can change," offers concrete solutions to real-world issues facing education today, such as the gap between policy and practice, the problem of students losing their dreams amid entrance exams, and addressing educational inequality. It also presents a clear direction for the future of education in the era of AI sapiens.
In particular, the book emphasizes the importance of a responsible sense of community to balance student rights and teacher authority, and proposes ways to open up children's futures under the vision of "Gyeongnam education where every child shines."
In his invitation message to readers, Kim Seung-oh, former Blue House Education Administrator, stated, "Dear residents, I am honored to publish a book that contains the journey I have walked as an educator and my vision for the future of education," adding, "I invite you to join us in opening a new era of hope and vision for education in Gyeongnam."
