Spreading a Culture of Work-Life Balance
Creating a Family-Friendly Work Environment for Childbirth and Childcare
Reduced Working Hours During Pregnancy, Expanded Parental Leave, and Flexible Working Arrangements
KB Kookmin Card announced on October 29 that it was selected as the top company for being family-friendly at the "Best Companies for Raising Children Awards" hosted by the private think tank, the Korea Peninsula Future Forum, and received the Minister of Employment and Labor Award.
This awards ceremony recognizes and rewards companies that excel in supporting work-life balance, which is a key factor in addressing the low birth rate issue. Companies were evaluated based on 17 criteria, including childbirth and childcare support policies, flexible working systems, and in-office childcare environments, to select the award recipients.
KB Kookmin Card stated that it operates a variety of family-friendly programs to foster a culture of work-life balance.
The company is making efforts to prevent career interruptions for employees due to childbirth and childcare. It supports flexible working arrangements by reducing working hours and allowing schedule changes during pregnancy, and strictly prohibits overtime and holiday work.
When employees have children, the company provides congratulatory cash gifts and presents. Male employees are offered paternity leave. Parental leave has been expanded to a maximum of 2 years and 6 months per child (including 6 months of pre- and post-natal leave), and the eligibility has been extended to employees with children under 12 years of age or up to the 6th grade of elementary school.
In addition to parental leave, the company also operates a reduced working hours program for employees with young children.
KB Kookmin Card runs an in-house daycare center. It provides educational support for preschool children and offers additional living subsidies to employees with children who have disabilities or require special education.
Through the family participation program "Gahwamansaseong," the company offers opportunities for family activities and cultural experiences. It also subsidizes the use of resort facilities so employees can enjoy vacations with their families.
