SEMAS Receives Financial Services Commission Chairman’s Commendation on Financial Day for Advancing Inclusive Finance
Tailored Financial Support and High-Interest Loan Refinancing
Recognized for Bridging Financial Blind Spots
The Small Enterprise and Market Service (SEMAS) announced on October 28 that it received a commendation from the Chairman of the Financial Services Commission in recognition of its contributions to inclusive finance at the 10th Financial Day event held at the FKI Tower in Seoul.
'Financial Day' is a statutory commemorative day established to raise public interest in finance and to encourage those working in the financial sector. Since 2016, events have been held on the last Tuesday of October each year to honor contributors to the development of the financial sector.
Over the past ten years since 2015, SEMAS has managed loan programs totaling approximately 35 trillion won, striving to resolve financial difficulties faced by small business owners. This award is especially meaningful as it recognizes SEMAS's multifaceted efforts to eliminate financial blind spots for small business owners who found it difficult to access private sector financing during the COVID-19 pandemic and various socio-economic crises. SEMAS was highly praised for its realization of inclusive finance, primarily by alleviating the burden of high interest rates, resolving temporary management difficulties, and supporting financially vulnerable groups, thereby contributing to the stability of small business operations.
