Showcasing Technological Capabilities and Competitiveness
to Domestic and Global Audiences
Twenty-four research industry companies from Daejeon will showcase their technological capabilities and competitiveness to domestic and international audiences at the International Research Industry Convention (IRIC 2025), held at COEX in Magok, Seoul, from October 28 to 29, 2025.
This convention is the largest specialized event in Korea for the research industry, designed to share the latest trends across the entire sector-including research equipment, materials, components, and AI convergence technologies-and to strengthen collaborative networks among academia, industry, and government.
Daejeon City plans to introduce the innovative technologies and products of local research industry companies to research institutions and industries both in Korea and abroad, aiming to facilitate practical business exchanges during the event.
To this end, Daejeon City, in partnership with Daejeon Technopark, will operate a joint promotional booth to present the Daejeon Research Industry Promotion Complex and major achievements in the research industry, while also hosting technology exhibitions and consultation sessions for participating companies.
The participating companies, including Kosem (optical and electronic equipment), J.O. Tech (machining and testing equipment), First Lab (compound pretreatment and analysis equipment), Ibeam Technology (optical and electronic equipment), and YNDK (optical and electronic equipment), are active in various fields such as research equipment manufacturing, precision measurement, and software and data-based research support. They are expected to demonstrate their technological competitiveness and potential for global market entry through exhibition demonstrations and consultation sessions.
Son Cheolwoong, Director of Future Strategic Industries at Daejeon City, stated, "This international convention will serve as a springboard for Daejeon's research industry to expand beyond Korea into the global market," adding, "We will continue to support the advancement of the regional research industry ecosystem centered on the Research Industry Promotion Complex, including the localization of research equipment and the activation of exports."
