The event continued with a fireworks fountain, multicolored smoke, a computer graphics video presentation, and celebratory fireworks.
The construction of this Reliability Verification Center is a national project implemented by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, and Wonju City, and carried out by KTC (Korea Testing Certification). A total of 35 billion won will be invested, including 22.6 billion won in national and provincial funds, 4.8 billion won in KTC capital, and 7.6 billion won from the city. The center will have a total floor area of 2,328 square meters, with three stories above ground, and aims for completion in April 2027.
The Reliability Verification Center will serve as a facility to verify the reliability of electronic components (automotive electrical and electronic devices) and system semiconductors used in future vehicles. It will be equipped with 25 types of equipment to comprehensively verify the performance, durability, and safety of automotive semiconductors and electronic components.
Through this, the center is expected to become the first integrated verification facility in Korea for automotive electronic components and system semiconductors, offering not only verification but also design education, failure analysis simulation, and support for corporate technology development and demonstration.
Additionally, the center is expected to play a key role as the core facility of the semiconductor testbed being established around the Buron Industrial Complex in Wonju, contributing to attracting companies and advancing local industries.
