Hoseo University Wins Two Grand Prizes at AI Hackathon: "Generative AI and Security Algorithm"
Innovation Recognized with Senior-Focused Document Summarization Service and Keystroke Security Solution
Hoseo University has demonstrated both technological prowess and creativity on the national university AI hackathon stage.
At the "2025 Capstone Design and AI Hackathon Competition" organized by the Korea Association of Computer Education, the university secured the grand prize in both the Generative AI Application category and the AI Algorithm category, solidifying its reputation as a leading institution in AI convergence.
According to Hoseo University on October 28, this competition was sponsored by AhnLab, Kakao, and SK Broadband. It was held in Gangchon over three days starting from October 24, with the aim of enhancing students' creative problem-solving abilities and practical AI skills.
In the Generative AI category, Hoseo University claimed the grand prize with its "Document Summarization Guide Service for Seniors."
This service is an OCR (Optical Character Recognition)-based system that automatically summarizes complex documents sent by public institutions, hospitals, banks, and other organizations. It was recognized as a practical technology suited for a super-aged society by improving information accessibility for the elderly.
In the AI Algorithm category, the "AI Keystroke Security Solution" won the grand prize. This customized AI security technology learns users' keyboard input patterns to verify their identity. The panel of judges highly praised it, stating that it "presented a new paradigm in input security."
In addition, Hoseo University teams swept multiple awards with projects such as the "Jeonse Fraud Prediction AI Program" and the "AI-Based Human Relationship Simulation Service," standing out as talented individuals in AI convergence.
Cho Hyuntae, a Computer Engineering student and grand prize winner, said, "By refining our ideas day and night with my teammates, I learned the joy of taking on challenges."
