Lee Eogwon: "KOSPI 4,000 Marks a New Starting Point for Economic Leap Forward"
On October 27, Lee Eogwon, Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, stated at the ceremony celebrating the KOSPI reaching 4,000 points, "The era of KOSPI 4,000 is a symbol of trust in our capital market and marks a new starting point for the Republic of Korea's economic leap forward."
In his congratulatory remarks at the ceremony held at the Korea Exchange PR Center that day, he said, "As a citizen, I feel an overwhelming sense of joy," and added, "It is especially meaningful that countless domestic and international investors trust our capital market and are investing in the bright future of Korea."
He continued, "The government will do its utmost to ensure that investors' confidence is sustained and that it leads to tangible results, such as revitalized investment and the creation of quality jobs. We will foster new growth engines and improve the structure of the financial market to support the sustainable growth of our economy."
Additionally, Chairman Lee emphasized plans to strengthen the institutional foundation and enhance policy support so that private capital can invest more boldly in future industries such as artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology, and climate technology.
