Expansion to Advanced Training Planned

The National Tax Service is working to strengthen the organization’s overall AI capabilities, including by conducting systematic training, in order to accelerate the AI transformation of national tax administration.

View original imageBefore the training began, Lim Gwanghyun, Commissioner of the National Tax Service, emphasized, “The AI transformation of the National Tax Service marks the starting point of innovation that will completely change the way our organization works and thinks. Your insights into AI will become the driving force that brightens the future of fair and rational tax administration.”
To implement national policy tasks utilizing AI, the National Tax Service has established a three-stage AI training system in cooperation with KAIST. Last month, it conducted basic AI training for headquarters staff, introducing the principles of AI and various practical applications. In November, the basic training will be expanded to include employees at seven regional offices and tax offices nationwide.
In addition, an AI strategy special lecture was held, primarily targeting managers, to enhance their policy response capabilities regarding AI and to share directions for applying AI to national tax administration. In November, the agency plans to further strengthen AI literacy through hands-on training in advanced prompt engineering, data analysis, and visualization, aiming to foster specialists who will lead the AI transformation.

A National Tax Service official stated, “This year, we will provide AI training to about 2,000 people and train 100 core personnel as AI experts to lead the AI transformation. Starting next year, we will gradually expand the training so that all employees can participate, and we will strive to become a ‘National Tax Service that leads the AI era and prepares for the future together with the people.’”
