"Immersed in the Taste of Haenam"... Haenam Minam Festival Opens on the 31st
Held for Three Days at Duryunsan Provincial Park
The "2025 Haenam Minam (Taste South) Festival," where visitors can enjoy the rich agricultural and fishery specialties and a variety of foods from Haenam, South Jeolla Province, will open on the 31st.
This year’s festival, held under the theme "Immersed in the Taste of Haenam," will run for three days until November 2. On the opening day, residents from 14 towns and villages will parade through the festival grounds showcasing their representative agricultural and marine products and foods in the "Specialty Parade." There will also be a performance announcing the "Haenam Eight Delicacies," the region’s signature foods.
The Haenam Eight Delicacies include chicken course dishes, Daeheungsa barley ssambap, Haenam seaweed wrap with Spanish mackerel sashimi, Dendropanax dishes, Ttangkkeut Korean beef, Haenam-style table, summer pike conger, and sweet potato desserts.

The Seaweed Information Hall will showcase the history, cultivation process, and current processed products of seaweed. At noon on November 1, the "Minam Gimbap Pop-up Zone" will allow visitors to make gimbap themselves using ingredients from the Haenam Eight Delicacies. The Haenam County Fisheries Cooperative will also hold a "Haenam Seaweed Half-Price Event," offering processed seaweed products such as seasoned seaweed at a 50% discount.
A highlight of this year’s festival is the "Haenam Table Hall," which brands the Haenam-style table. Here, visitors can taste modern interpretations of local agricultural and fishery specialties and traditional food culture, as well as meal kits. A variety of hands-on events will take place, including the "515 Kimchi Bibim" with 250 participants, seaweed rice cake soup sharing, nostalgic grill experiences, and Makgeolli cocktail tastings throughout the festival grounds.
As a participatory festival led by local residents, more than 20 out of about 30 programs will involve direct participation from county residents. The opening parade, Minam Regional Arts Festival, and the Ogi Taek Song Festival will be held, while the auxiliary stage will feature the Lifelong Learning Festival and a chrysanthemum-themed playground for children. The entire festival area will also host the Ttangkkeut Chrysanthemum Festival, adding to the autumn scenery.
