"Books Meet Art"... Busan Office of Education Holds 'Reading on the Road' Event at Museum
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education has organized an event where participants can share the joy of reading in a unique space that blends history, art, and culture.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) announced on the 21st that it will hold an outdoor reading event under the theme "Reading on the Road: Opening Books in the Garden of Art" at the Busan Museum from 9 a.m. on the 25th.
This event is a reading festival that brings together students, parents, teachers, and citizens. It offers a new form of cultural experience that combines books, art, and culture amid the atmosphere of autumn.
Participants, in family groups, can complete various reading missions linked to the Busan Museum's exhibitions. Through programs such as creating pop-up books, drawing book characters, writing about reading rights, and experiencing a black-and-white photo studio, they can enjoy reading activities where history and art intersect.
At the venue, the "Courtyard Bookstore" will also be open, allowing anyone to freely browse more than 50 books related to history, art, and culture, including the 2025 One Book One Busan selection and recommended books for the "Reading on the Road" program.
In addition, performance arts programs such as classical music concerts and marionette puppet shows will be featured, transforming the museum into a "festival hall of books and art." Through this event, the Office of Education aims to create "an integrated cultural festival where participants can experience both the emotions of reading and cultural inspiration."
Superintendent Kim Seokjun stated, "Books are a precious window of knowledge that connects the past, present, and future. I hope that through this event, where history, art, and culture come together, both students and citizens can experience the value of an integrated cultural experience."
