Payhere: "One-Stop QR Ordering, Pickup, and Tax Refund"
Establishing a QR-Based One-Stop Payment System with Romand
Payhere announced on October 23 that it has implemented a QR code-based one-stop payment system in collaboration with the color cosmetics brand Romand at the 'Pink Office' in Seongsu-dong.
Romand planned a new shopping method that connects online and offline experiences using QR codes and developed its own mobile app. The key innovation is the integration of Payhere's POS and DID (Display for Order Numbers) solutions in real time, creating a unified system that covers the entire shopping process-from ordering and payment to pickup and tax refund.
Customers can scan the QR code of their desired product in the store with their mobile phones to add items to their mobile shopping cart. Once shopping is complete, the product details are automatically synchronized with the POS, allowing customers to make an immediate payment and simply collect their products from the conveyor belt at the pickup zone. There is no need to carry heavy shopping baskets or look for staff to receive new products. Store employees also no longer need to scan the barcodes of multiple products individually. Only test products are displayed on the shelves, which reduces the risk of theft and enhances the efficiency of real-time inventory and sales data management.
In response to global demand for K-beauty, features for foreign tourists have also been enhanced. Since about 60 to 70 percent of visitors to Romand stores are foreigners, the QR ordering and payment process supports multiple languages, including English, Chinese, and Japanese, enabling a seamless shopping experience without language barriers. In addition, the 'Tax Refund' service allows customers to scan their passports at the Payhere Terminal card reader during payment, so VAT is automatically refunded. This creates a one-stop shopping environment where tax refunds are processed instantly in-store, eliminating the need to wait in line at the airport or submit receipts.
