To Be Held at Hanbat Arboretum from October 24 to 26
An exposition where citizens can directly experience gardens featuring a variety of themes will be held.
The "2025 Daejeon Garden Expo" will take place for the first time from October 24 to October 26 at Hanbat Arboretum (Expo Citizen Plaza).
With the theme "Daejeon, a World-Class Garden City Created Together with Citizens," this expo will feature garden exhibitions, a garden industry fair, cultural programs, and side events. It aims to share the vision of a garden city with its citizens through a diverse array of activities.
The opening ceremony will be held on October 24 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., beginning with a classical guitar ensemble performance, followed by a welcoming address and congratulatory remarks, an awards ceremony for the garden design competition, a screening of a promotional video for Daejeon as a garden city, and an opening performance with commemorative photo session.
At the main venue, including the circular lawn plaza, Seowon lawn plaza, central bald cypress path, and Expo Citizen Plaza within Hanbat Arboretum, a total of 23 gardens will be on display: 3 designer gardens, 10 corporate gardens, 5 citizen gardens, and 5 student gardens. Citizens will have the opportunity to explore gardens featuring a wide range of themes firsthand.
In addition, the industry fair for the development of the garden industry will feature 42 booths from companies specializing in garden-related materials and facilities, allowing visitors to experience the latest trends and technologies in the garden industry through the products on display.
Furthermore, various hands-on garden programs will be offered, including a mobile companion plant clinic operated by the Korea Arboretum and Garden Management Agency, as well as experiences with carnivorous plants, plant propagation, and creating carbon-neutral flowerpots. These programs are designed to make garden culture easily accessible to people of all ages.
Side events will include a garden concert, a garden talk show, a plant auction, a bubble magic show, and the "Deulseokdeulseok in Daejeon" busking performances, with a variety of performances and programs held daily to enhance the festive atmosphere.
