Prime Minister Kim Minseok visited Gyeongju on October 17 to inspect the preparations for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.
At the inspection meeting held at Gyeongju City Hall on the same day, Prime Minister Kim stated, "While infrastructure development is proceeding smoothly overall, the remaining schedule is tight. Therefore, I ask each relevant agency to cross-check and thoroughly manage any risk factors that may arise during the final stages."
During the meeting, participants discussed the results of the government’s joint safety inspection, plans for the summit and official banquet, operational measures for business events, media support strategies, accommodation, transportation, and medical measures, as well as public order and safety plans. Additional inspections and actions required in each area were also reviewed.
Prime Minister Kim also visited the Gyeongju Arts Center, where the 'CEO Summit' will be held, and Hwarang Village, the venue for the related welcome dinner, to check the facilities and preparation status.
