A firefighter in Ulsan discovered and rescued a person who was attempting to jump from the rooftop of a building. The firefighter was on his way to a study room near his home during his day off.

According to the Ulsan Jungbu Fire Station on October 14, Yoon Jonghyun, a Fire Sergeant at the Taehwa 119 Safety Center, spotted a man standing on the edge of a nearby rooftop at around 7:30 a.m. on October 12, while he was heading to a study room close to his home.

Yoon, who was on his way early in the morning to study work-related laws, immediately went up to the rooftop where the man was standing and calmly began persuading him. He reassured the man by saying, "Life is difficult for everyone," and "Let’s talk together," speaking in a composed manner. As a result, the man regained his composure and came down from the building. Yoon commented, "This is simply what any firefighter should do," choosing not to elaborate further.

Yoo Daeseon, Chief of the Jungbu Fire Station, praised Yoon's quick and calm response in a critical situation, stating, "Thanks to Fire Sergeant Yoon's prompt and composed judgment, a life was saved." He added, "We will continue to prioritize the safety and lives of citizens above all else."
