Leading the Spread of a Life-Respecting Culture
with Citizens through the "Four-Minute Miracle"
The Simkung Club of the Department of Emergency Medical Services at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Youngdo) recently participated in the "2025 Busanjin-gu V-Vitality Recharge Festival" held at Seomyeon Youth Street, providing citizens with hands-on training under the theme "The Four-Minute Miracle of Life-Saving CPR," the university announced on October 14.
This event, organized by the Busanjin-gu Volunteer Center and supported by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, was held under the slogan "Sharing Warmth, Busanjin-gu" with the goal of revitalizing volunteer activities.
At the event, various experience booths and talent-sharing performances were held around three main themes: carbon neutrality, sharing, and disaster & safety.
On this day, the Simkung Club of the Department of Emergency Medical Services operated a disaster & safety experience booth, providing direct instruction to citizens on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) usage. Participants used actual models to learn how to respond quickly and accurately in the event of cardiac arrest, experiencing firsthand the value of life and the importance of emergency first aid.
An official from the Busanjin-gu Volunteer Center stated, "Through collaboration with the Simkung Club of the Department of Emergency Medical Services at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, we were able to provide professional and practical emergency first aid training," adding, "We will continue to promote various volunteer programs to ensure the safety and health of local residents."
Nam Jaekyu, a student member of the Simkung Club, commented, "It was a meaningful experience to work with the local community, allowing me to develop not only practical skills but also a spirit of volunteerism," and expressed his commitment to "contributing to the spread of a safety culture that protects citizens' lives."
