Siheung to Raise Village Bus Fares by 300 Won, Intercity Bus Fares by 200 Won Starting on the 25th
Starting from October 25, 2025, the city of Siheung in Gyeonggi Province will increase the fares for Gyeonggi intercity buses and Siheung city village buses by up to 300 won.
The city explained that this unavoidable decision was made to adjust the fare system, which has remained unchanged for the past six years, in order to maintain the stability of bus operations and the quality of service. However, this fare hike will inevitably increase the burden on citizens using public transportation.
With this increase, the fares for Gyeonggi intercity buses will rise by 100 to 200 won: adults from 1,450 won to 1,650 won, teenagers from 1,010 won to 1,160 won, and children from 730 won to 830 won.
Siheung city village bus fares will also increase by 150 to 300 won: adults from 1,350 won to 1,650 won, teenagers from 950 won to 1,160 won, and children from 680 won to 830 won.
The city plans to prioritize investing the additional revenue generated from this fare adjustment into service improvements such as expanding the Gyeonggi public management system, reducing intervals between buses, creating new routes, and replacing aging vehicles.
To ease the burden on citizens caused by the fare increase, the city is implementing various transportation cost support policies. Currently, Siheung operates the "K-Pass," which partially refunds transportation expenses for public transit users, "The Gyeonggi Pass" for Gyeonggi Province residents, and "Siheung Pass Plus" for children and teenagers. Starting January next year, the city will also launch the "Senior Basic Transportation Support Program" for residents aged 65 and older.
