KakaoBank Surpasses 100,000 Users for "Woori Child Account" and "Woori Child Savings"
An average of 4,000 new users per day
Popular for its high convenience and messaging features
One in four users participates with family members
KakaoBank announced on October 13 that the number of users for its "Woori Child Account" and "Woori Child Savings" products has surpassed 100,000.
After launching the "Woori Child Account" and "Woori Child Savings" on September 15, which allow parents to open accounts in the names of their minor children, KakaoBank saw an average of 4,000 new customers per day, quickly exceeding the 100,000-user mark.
The convenient sign-up process and the feature that allows parents to jointly manage their child's account have received a strong response. If a father opens a "Woori Child Account," he can send an invitation link to the mother so both can participate in managing the child's account. If the child has a mobile phone registered in their own name, they can also check the account directly. In fact, one out of every four users is utilizing the service together with family members.
The feature that allows users to leave messages during deposits and withdrawals has been well received on social media. Parents can leave messages and emojis such as "First steps day" or "First New Year's gift money," which their child can view and respond to with a "like." During holiday periods, customer messages like "Uncle's Chuseok gift money" and "Thank you, Grandma" have even circulated on social media. Some customers are also using the service in creative ways, such as making small daily savings to record their child's growth milestones.
Additionally, one out of every two customers who opened a "Woori Child Account" also signed up for the "Woori Child Savings." The "Woori Child Savings" product offers a base annual interest rate of 3%, with an additional 4 percentage points for setting up automatic transfers, for a maximum annual rate of 7%.
The "Woori Child Love Feeding" event, held to celebrate the launch, is also popular. By participating in simple missions and earning points, customers can receive up to 12,000 won in cashback directly to their "Woori Child Account," enjoying both fun and rewards.
