Yangpyeong County Secures 15.3 Billion Won for Next Year’s Han River Basin Management Fund Resident Support Project
Yangpyeong County in Gyeonggi Province (County Governor Jeon Jinseon) announced that it has secured a total of 15.3 billion won for the 2026 Han River Basin Management Fund Resident Support Project to improve the living environment, including increasing the income and welfare of local residents. This amount includes an incentive of 470 million won for outstanding budget execution.

View original imageThe Han River Basin Management Fund Resident Support Project is designed to assist local residents who experience inconveniences in their daily lives due to various regulations aimed at preserving the quality of drinking water sources. The budget allocation includes 2.7 billion won for direct support to households, such as assistance with public utility bills and improving residential convenience; 8.1 billion won for township and town resident support projects to enhance welfare; and 3.5 billion won for large-scale projects that are difficult to implement at the village level.
Notably, this budget reflects 1.1 billion won earmarked for the "Sunlight Pension Pilot Project," which is one of the 12 priority strategies and 123 national policy tasks set by the National Policy Planning Committee, and is expected to contribute to establishing a foundation for the expansion of renewable energy.
Jeon Jinseon, Governor of Yangpyeong County, stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure that projects needed by local residents are given priority to improve their living environment."

Meanwhile, on October 1, 2025, the Climate and Environment Division of Yangpyeong County Office held a meeting with township and town officials to discuss the smooth implementation of the 2026 Resident Support Project. The county plans to gather opinions from residents in each village and establish the project plan by the end of October 2025.
