View original imageOn October 2, the Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Kim Byungjoon) announced that it would provide support totaling approximately 11.1 billion KRW so that neighbors in need can enjoy a bountiful Chuseok holiday.
The Community Chest of Korea provides holiday support every year to ensure that marginalized neighbors can spend Chuseok without worry. This year, the organization will support a total of about 170,000 people, including low-income and vulnerable groups, isolated and reclusive youth, children, adolescents, people with disabilities, the elderly, and North Korean defectors, as well as 860 social welfare facilities.

View original imageThe total support amounts to approximately 11.1 billion KRW, including about 10.39 billion KRW in cash for medical and living expenses, 1 billion KRW worth of in-kind donations such as holiday foods, ritual items, and white rice, and 600 million KRW worth of local currency and Onnuri gift certificates, which will be distributed nationwide through local governments and partner organizations.
