BISTEP Publishes Autumn Issue of "Technological Innovation and Future Busan"

Presenting Strategic Directions for Regional Response
The Busan Institute of Science, Technology and Higher Education Promotion (BISTEP), the dedicated organization for regional science and technology policy based on R&D in Busan (President: Kim Youngbu), has published the autumn issue (No. 14) of its quarterly magazine, "Technological Innovation and Future Busan," which presents regional insights on major domestic and international science and technology issues.
The theme of this autumn issue is "Future of Tech," which carries the meaning "Seeing the Future Through Technology."
Rather than simply introducing trends in new technologies, the magazine focuses on core future technologies such as artificial intelligence, energy, biohealth, and power semiconductors. It emphasizes presenting strategic directions that Busan should take in response to the social and industrial changes that technological innovation will bring.
This issue features contributions from: Chae Junwon, Director of Business Planning at BISTEP (A Blueprint for Busan as a Global Marine Hub City Based on Science and Technology); Ahn Hyunsil, Vice President for Research at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (Standing Representative of the National Alliance for Realizing a Proper Science and Technology Society); Park Byungseop, Principal Researcher at the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (Expert Member, R&D Strategy Planning Division, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy); Park Kyeongeun, Head of the Future Strategy Team at Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency; Kim Hyuncheol, Head of R&D Innovation at Korea Health Industry Development Institute; Lee Seongsik, Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Pusan National University (Director, Busan Semiconductor Joint Research Institute); Kim Jeomsoo, Professor of Chemical Engineering at Dong-A University; and Seo Hyeongpil, Head of Policy Planning at Busan Technopark.
The participating experts explored the region's role from various perspectives, delivering the message that technological change represents both challenges and opportunities for Busan.
