View original imageThe National Heritage Administration announced on September 30 that institutions or individuals in possession of illegal taxidermy or specimens of natural monument animals will not be penalized if they voluntarily report them by October 30 of the following month.
Unauthorized taxidermy is a major cause of illegal capture and trafficking. Any illegal production, storage, or trade discovered after the voluntary reporting period will be strictly punished in accordance with the Act on the Preservation and Utilization of Natural Heritage.
To report, individuals can download the form from the 'Notices' section of the National Heritage Administration website and submit it via email.

The National Heritage Administration will conduct a verification process for the submitted taxidermy and specimens, and will transfer them for use as scientific and educational materials. An official stated, "Active public participation is essential for the protection of natural monuments."
