Gangwon Province to Hold "579th Hangul Day Grand Festival" in Chuncheon... Experience the Beauty and Value of Hangul

A Variety of Cultural Events Planned
Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae) will host the "579th Hangul Day Grand Festival" together with the Gangwon National University Korean Language and Culture Center on October 9, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Hoban Square in front of Chuncheon City Hall.

View original imageThis event is jointly organized by Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Gangwon National University Korean Language and Culture Center, and the Department of Korean Language and Literature at Gangwon National University. It aims to commemorate Hangul Day and to widely promote the value and importance of the Korean language.
The program will begin with a Samulnori (Korean traditional percussion) performance, followed by a variety of cultural experiences such as making rubbings of Hunminjeongeum, traditional games, cotton candy making, drawing Munjado (decorative calligraphy), and calligraphy (artistic lettering).
At 3:30 p.m., the "Challenge! Korean Language Golden Bell" quiz competition will be held, with separate categories for Koreans and foreigners. Participants will compete by solving questions about the Korean language, providing an opportunity to experience firsthand the beauty and excellence of the language.
