S2W Presents at World-Renowned Cybersecurity Conference 'Virus Bulletin 2025 (VB2025)' for Fifth Consecutive Year
Big data analytics artificial intelligence (AI) company S2W announced that it participated as a presenter at the world-renowned cybersecurity conference, Virus Bulletin 2025 (VB2025), held in Berlin, Germany, from September 24 to 26.
S2W has been selected as a presenter at the VB Conference for five consecutive years since 2021, earning recognition for its status as a global AI and security company in the field of cybersecurity. The company has established a unique expertise by leveraging years of accumulated research and threat intelligence to conduct in-depth tracking and analysis of attack activities by state-sponsored groups from North Korea, China, and Russia.
This year, S2W presented two research findings based on its experience, both focusing on the latest attack cases involving North Korean-backed threat groups.
The first presentation, led by Hyungjun Kim, a researcher at the Threat Intelligence Center, analyzed a newly discovered mobile malware called 'DocSwap.' DocSwap, which disguises itself as a security app to be installed, is a highly sophisticated malware capable of executing up to 57 commands. It drew attention for its revealed connection to the Kimsuky group.
The second presentation, delivered by Jiho Kim, senior researcher at the Threat Intelligence Center, and Jaegi Kim, head of the center, unveiled an analysis of ScarCruft (APT37)'s recent campaign. The research identified new attack tools, including a backdoor using the PubNub API, Rust-based malware, and custom ransomware. The findings highlighted that the APT group's strategy has expanded from traditional espionage to financial motives.
The VB Conference, which began in 1989, is the world's most prestigious cybersecurity event. Security experts from around the globe gather to share the latest threat trends and research achievements. Presenters are selected based on both technical depth and practical contribution, which underscores the high level of trust placed in them by the global security industry.
