Vice Chairman Kwon Daeyoung Holds Luncheon with Financial Services Commission Interns for Youth Week
Listening to the Concerns of Young People
Kwon Daeyoung, Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, announced on September 23 that he held a luncheon meeting with the commission's youth interns on September 22 to mark Youth Week (September 20-26).
During the meeting, which was conducted in an open and relaxed atmosphere without any restrictions on topics, the young participants shared their opinions on a wide range of subjects, including employment, career paths, and financial policies. As most of the interns are preparing for employment, discussions related to job opportunities were particularly prominent. Many of the interns expressed their desire to work in the financial sector and conveyed their hope that the industry would provide ample opportunities for work experience (such as internships) and recruitment for young people.
Vice Chairman Kwon noted that he is well aware of the strong interest among young people in joining the financial sector, as evidenced by the 33,000 job seekers who attended the 'Financial Sector Joint Recruitment Fair' held in August this year. He went on to say that he would do his utmost to convey the earnest and urgent aspirations of young people to the financial sector and seek cooperation from industry stakeholders.
Kwon also expressed a deep sense of responsibility for the lack of opportunities available to young people in society today. He emphasized that society has a duty to nurture (incubate) and support young people in various areas, including jobs (entrepreneurship and employment), asset building, financial education, and financial management.
