Google Labels 'Dokdo Museum' as 'Kim Il-sung Memorial Hall'... Prime Minister Expresses "Strong Regret"

View original imagePrime Minister Kim Minseok has ordered that a strong message of regret be delivered to Google for labeling the Dokdo Museum as the Kim Il-sung Memorial Hall (Annex).
On September 19, Prime Minister Kim issued an urgent directive to the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, instructing them to "immediately request corrective action from Google and convey the government's strong regret."
Additionally, Prime Minister Kim emphasized the need to "identify the cause of the mislabeling of the Dokdo Museum on Google Maps and strongly urge Google to prevent a recurrence of such incidents in the future."
The Dokdo Museum, located at 90-17 Yaksuteo-gil, Ulleung-eup, Ulleung County, Gyeongsangbuk-do, was still labeled as the Kim Il-sung Memorial Hall on Google Maps as of 10:30 a.m. on the same day.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Kim also issued instructions to the acting police chief regarding ongoing anti-China protests that have moved from Myeong-dong to Daerim-dong in Seoul.
He called for "close monitoring of the protest situation and, if necessary, strong measures in accordance with the Assembly and Demonstration Act and the Police Officers' Duty Execution Act."

He further stressed, "In particular, every effort must be made to ensure safety and maintain order so that merchants, residents, and Chinese nationals living in the area do not experience increased inconvenience or anxiety in their daily lives."
