Third Age to Host 'Global Senior Wellness Conference' in Wonju This November

Third Age, a startup specializing in senior business, announced on September 19 that it will host the '1st Global Senior Wellness Conference' in Wonju, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, from November 20 to 21. The conference is subtitled 'Senior Wellness Trends and Future Prospects in Four Asian Countries (Korea, Japan, China, Singapore)'.
The event will take place at various locations in Wonju Innovation City, including the National Health Insurance Service, Museum SAN, and Oak Valley. The conference aims to share proactive prevention activities and successful cases during the 'third act of life' in preparation for a super-aged society, while emphasizing the importance of vibrant retirement planning.
On the first day, November 20, Lee Yunhwan, President of the Korean Gerontological Society and Professor of Preventive Medicine at Ajou University School of Medicine, will deliver the keynote speech, presenting 'Policy Directions for Health and Longevity for Future Seniors.' This will be followed by presentations: 'Senior Asset Management' by Esther Tan, Director of Public Trustee Services Singapore, and 'AgeTech Global Frontier' by Makiko Kawabe, Researcher at Sompo Digital Lab San Francisco, Japan.
On the second day, November 21, wellness experiences, lectures, and discussions will be held. After a keynote lecture on 'Wellness in Living Environments' by Lee Kyungmi, Director of It's Okay to Get Old Design Research Institute, there will be presentations: 'Enhancing Menopause-Centered Health Resilience' by Jane Zhang, CEO of True North Consulting in China, and 'Anti-Aging Industry Trends and Emotional Health' by Lee Boram, CEO of Third Age. Additional programs include a meditation session at Museum SAN and a forest trail walk at Oak Valley. In the afternoon, a comprehensive discussion will lead to the adoption of the 'Wonju Declaration' before the conference closes.
Lee Boram, CEO of Third Age, stated, "This conference marks the first step in bringing together policy, industry, and lifestyle cases from four major Asian countries to identify senior wellness models." She added, "We plan to expand the scale annually to establish a regular global senior knowledge conference and continuously create opportunities for international cooperation to vitalize the industry ecosystem." She also noted, "Through in-depth discussions among experts from each country, the conference will identify practical tasks to extend healthy life expectancy and improve quality of life, and the 'Wonju Declaration' will present concrete directions."
