On September 16, Gubokgyu, the mayor of Hwasun County, along with senior officials, drew attention by holding a unique campaign titled "No Work Instructions via KakaoTalk After Working Hours!"
The campaign stood out because the department heads, including the mayor, took the initiative together to create an organizational culture where employees' right to rest is respected and work-life balance can be achieved.
Hwasun County expects this campaign to serve as an opportunity for all staff members to share the philosophy of the institution head regarding the establishment of a horizontal organizational culture.
An official from the county explained, "We named the campaign 'KakaoTalk NO!' to make its purpose easy to understand, but the intention is to refrain as much as possible from all forms of contact outside of working hours, including group SNS messages, text messages, and phone calls, not just KakaoTalk."
