Korea Social Investment and Hana Securities Join Hands to Expand Venture Capital Supply
"Strengthening the Discovery of Promising ESG Companies
and Support for Scaling Up"
Korea Social Investment and Hana Securities announced on the 12th that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to expand the supply of venture capital and to promote the discovery and investment in promising companies in the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sector.
This agreement was initiated to support funding and growth for promising startups in the ESG sector and outstanding small and medium-sized enterprises, in line with the financial authorities’ recent emphasis on the importance of supplying venture capital.

View original imageThrough this agreement, the two organizations have agreed to cooperate in the following areas: discovering and making early-stage investments in promising startups in the ESG sector such as venture companies and startups; supporting the scaling up of outstanding small and medium-sized enterprises; providing customized growth support such as technical advisory, network connections, and globalization; and jointly promoting academic conferences and events to vitalize the supply of venture capital.
Hana Securities has expanded its corporate finance division and workforce, actively responded to venture and venture capital (VC) investments, and has been working to vitalize the supply of venture capital. Korea Social Investment, as a public interest impact investment firm, has been a leader in solving social problems and supporting innovative companies.
Through this collaboration, the two organizations plan to jointly contribute to the government’s policy direction of ‘productive finance’ and ‘expanding the venture capital ecosystem,’ ensuring that more companies can receive the capital and support they need at each stage of growth.
