Since last year, he has consistently released albums in Japan, including his latest release "Metro Love" on August 20. He has also held multiple fan concerts and fan meetings, connecting with his local fans. In addition, he has been actively appearing on various programs, such as the Tokyo MX talk show "The Owner of Room 70" and several radio shows. Park Yoochun has also been regularly sharing updates through his Instagram account. On September 10, he posted, "For the first time, I am truly running for myself now. So please believe in me."
Previously, in April 2019, Park Yoochun was indicted on charges of methamphetamine use and was sentenced to 10 months in prison, suspended for two years, and subsequently released. At the time, he apologized for causing controversy due to drug use and announced his intention to retire from the entertainment industry. However, he reversed his decision and resumed his activities in January 2020. Amid these developments, in December 2023, it was reported that he was listed as a major tax delinquent. It was revealed that he had failed to pay a total of 409 million won (across five cases) in taxes, including capital gains tax, since 2016. As a result, his name appeared on the National Tax Service's list of habitual high-value tax delinquents in December 2023. He was also ordered by the court to pay 500 million won in damages to his agency for conducting independent entertainment activities in violation of a court injunction.
