Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival for the Disabled Opens in Paju on the 12th... 4,823 Participants to Compete
The 19th Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival for the Disabled will open at Paju Stadium on September 12, 2025.
This two-day event, held until September 13, will be held under the slogan "Beautiful Challenge, Inspiring Paju, United Gyeonggi." A total of 4,823 participants (2,048 athletes and 2,775 guardians and officials) from 31 cities and counties will take part in the competition.
Athletes with visual, intellectual, hearing, brain lesion, and physical disabilities will participate, competing in 19 sports, including gateball, basketball, billiards, dance sports, lawn bowls, badminton, boccia, bowling, swimming, shuffleboard, weightlifting, track and field, tactics, rowing, futsal, table tennis, taekwondo, park golf, and e-sports.

Kim Sungjung, the First Vice Governor of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "I hope this festival will unite everyone through the challenges and breakthroughs of the athletes and the inspiration of the audience." He added, "Gyeonggi Province will continue to provide policy support for sports for the disabled by expanding opportunities to watch sports through the Opportunity Sports Viewing Pass and by offering Opportunity Income for athletes."
