Gwangju and Hanam Youth Policy Presentation "Policy Odyssey" Successfully Concludes
The 2025 Policy Presentation Event "Policy Odyssey," jointly organized by the Gwangju Youth Participation Committee, Youth Education Council, and Hanam Youth Education Council, was successfully held on September 6 at the Gyeonggi Gwangju Hanam Office of Education Auditorium.

View original imageThis event was designed to encourage young people to identify issues they experience in their communities and schools and propose solutions in the form of policy recommendations. More than 60 youth council members attended, along with key figures such as Gwangju Mayor Bang Sehwan, Hanam Mayor Lee Hyunjae, Gwangju City Council Chairperson Heo Kyunghaeng, and Oh Seongae, Superintendent of the Gyeonggi Gwangju Hanam Office of Education, all of whom listened attentively to the voices of the youth.
The event included welcoming remarks from distinguished guests, a video highlighting the activities of the Youth Education Council, policy presentations by each standing committee, and a discussion session. During the event, the youth actively exchanged ideas to concretize everyday issues into actionable policies.
Mayor Bang Sehwan stated, "We will establish measures to ensure that policy proposals from young people are actually reflected in local communities and educational settings, and we will actively support their autonomous activities."

Meanwhile, the Gwangju Youth Participation Committee, established in 2001 and now in its 24th term, has been steadily expanding its foundation for youth policy participation. Since 2021, it has operated a joint system with the Youth Education Council, in cooperation with Gwangju City, the Gwangju City Council, and the Gyeonggi Gwangju Hanam Office of Education, establishing itself as a model case for other cities.
