On September 4, Professor Seo announced via his social media account that a significant error had been detected in "Photoshop," a product of the American software company Adobe, which is widely used around the world.
Professor Seo explained that, based on reports from internet users, searching for "Hanbok" in both Korean and English using Adobe Photoshop's generative image tool results in numerous images of Japanese-style clothing and people.
He stated, "I immediately sent protest emails to various social media accounts operated by Adobe headquarters. I also attached an English-language video about Hanbok to the email, urging the developers to correct this obvious mistake as soon as possible."
Professor Seo expressed concern that, since many people worldwide use Adobe Photoshop, there is a risk that Hanbok designs could be misunderstood. He added that, given the global interest in Korean traditional culture, it is extremely important to accurately promote Hanbok, Korea's traditional attire.
