Pyeongtaek Mayor Jung Jangsun Visits Central Asian Cities to Discuss Exchange and Cooperation
Support Measures for the Local Koryoin Community Also Discussed
Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on September 2 that Mayor Jung Jangsun and his delegation visited major cities in Central Asia, including Osh City in Kyrgyzstan, Almaty Region, and Konaev City in Kazakhstan, from August 24 for a 5-night, 7-day trip to discuss ways to promote friendly cooperation.

View original imageThe city added that during the visit, Mayor Jung and his delegation held a meeting with members of the Association of Descendants of Independence Patriots of Kazakhstan and other representatives of the Koryoin community to discuss support measures to remember and preserve their ethnic roots and identity. Mayor Jung plans to deliver the suggestions raised at the meeting to the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs.
