Teenager Arrested in Seoul for Threatening to Bomb Andong Station During 'KBS Documentary 3 Days' Filming
A suspect who threatened to detonate an explosive device in the plaza in front of the old Andong Station in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province, was apprehended in Seoul.
On August 15, at approximately 2:25 p.m., Andong Police arrested a teenage high school student, identified as A, at a residence in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, on charges of making public threats. Earlier that day, at around 7:37 a.m., A had posted a message in the chat window of a YouTube live broadcast, stating, "I will detonate an explosive device at the old Andong Station plaza." At the time, a large number of citizens and broadcast staff were gathered at the location for the filming of "KBS Documentary 3 Days."

The police deployed officers from nearby substations, the Andong Police Department's initial response team, and the police special operations unit to secure and search the scene. No explosive devices were found during the search, and the police lifted the site restrictions at around 10:20 a.m., approximately two hours and fifty minutes later. It is reported that the police were able to identify A through location tracking and other investigative methods. A police official stated, "Investigators from Andong Police Department are currently heading to Seoul to question A."
