Hyundai Motor and LACMA to Host "Tavares Strachan" Exhibition
Exhibition Runs from October This Year to March Next Year
Hyundai Motor Company announced on August 13 that it will host the exhibition "Tavares Strachan: The Day Tomorrow Began" at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) as part of its long-term partnership, running from October 12, 2025 (local time) through March 29, 2026 (Sunday).
Since 2015, Hyundai has maintained a long-term partnership with LACMA, collaborating on the "Hyundai Project." This initiative supports exhibition and art-based technology lab programs, exploring the possibilities where art and technology intersect.
This solo exhibition by Tavares Strachan marks the sixth installment of the Hyundai Project's Art and Technology Program.
Tavares Strachan, who works between Nassau in the Bahamas and New York, has presented works that uniquely explore how knowledge is interpreted and operates at the intersection of art, science, and politics. In particular, the artist has focused on narratives related to the African Diaspora-a broad concept encompassing people who have experienced various forms of migration, such as displacement, refugee status, and exile.
This exhibition is the artist's first major museum show in Los Angeles, featuring more than 20 new works, including large-scale neon sculptures, and employing a variety of media such as sculpture, painting, writing, and music.
A Hyundai representative stated, "This exhibition by Tavares Strachan, which explores the narrative possibilities of art, is meaningful in that it offers audiences an opportunity to expand their understanding of history from a new perspective and envision a more inclusive future."
