Professors and students in the major were able to participate in hands-on field training, learning about and experiencing actual ODA projects.
The training consisted of practical lectures on topics such as the direction of innovation in future education and the use of edutech, trends in digital literacy and AI education in Korea, strategies for designing student-participatory online classes, and case studies of leading Korean schools. In particular, Silla University’s unique expertise in computer education and AI education in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region, combined with its infrastructure for teacher training, provided a high-level educational experience.
The program also included visits to educational institutions such as the Korea Science Academy of KAIST and the Busan Mathematics Culture Center, as well as various Korean cultural activities such as Taekwondo and traditional culture experiences, and tours of Ulsan and Yangsan.
Kim Shinae, a teacher at Deokwon Middle School, said, “It was meaningful to directly experience an ODA project in the very first semester of the new major,” adding, “Through education that combines theory and practice, I realized the importance of global educational cooperation.”
Lee Eunhwa, Dean of the Graduate School of Education, stated, “We created synergy by combining practical field education with the training program,” and added, “As the trainees’ plans for applying what they learned in their home country become more concrete, we expect to see tangible results.”
