In response, a total of 68 people, including 60 Pocheon City Hall officials and 8 members of the Rural Love Volunteer Group from the Pocheon branch of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, participated in the restoration efforts. The volunteers entered the vineyards and wiped mud and debris from the grape clusters, working hard to minimize losses ahead of the harvest.
Mayor Baek Younghyun, along with Lee Deokju, head of the Pocheon branch of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, and its staff, joined the volunteer work to comfort the affected farmers and assist with recovery efforts.
The owner of the damaged farm said, "It is heartbreaking to suffer damage just as the grapes are ripening, but having so many people come to help gives me great strength. I sincerely thank everyone who worked so hard."
