Jinhae District in Changwon Special City Installs Road Surface Color Guide Lines at Complex Intersections
Easier Driving with Proper Lane Guidance for Drivers
Jinhae District in Changwon Special City, South Gyeongsang Province, has completed the installation of road surface color guide lines in pink and green at ten locations, including the Yongwon Samgeori Intersection, to help drivers easily recognize their direction of travel.
This project involved the installation at ten locations, including: at the intersection near 1115-12 Yongwon-dong, where the wide spacing between intersections helps prevent wrong-way driving; at the area near 851-35 Nammun-dong, where the continuous intersection layout helps prevent driver confusion; and in front of 598-5 Idong, where the irregular intersection shape requires clear route guidance. The project was implemented as part of the detailed 'Reducing Traffic Accidents' initiative under the 2025 Traffic Safety Facility Improvement Plan, with a reallocated budget of 85 million won.
According to the Korea Road Traffic Authority on August 8, after the installation of the road surface color guide lines, there was a clear improvement in the clarity of vehicle travel direction. As a result, violations related to lane changes and sudden stops decreased, and the rate of traffic accidents was found to have dropped significantly.
